What dreams have I- locked-

in some yellowing Scroll-

that Others will discover- nod-

or- ignore Them- all-

Where is the crossing

of the stars? Not Here,

as is desired-

Youths wish it’d appear-

though- Consequences

be neglected- Outcomes-

rarely what expected,

or what one dreams-

Why do i     keep bringing

                 You

     into my      dreams ?

not    that

You     are

unwanted-     but i should     be moving on

by now

Shouldn’t   i            ?

One must not stave off

the Courage to try-

to quash Ambitions

will never see them Fly.

Ah,

so you’ve entered my dreams again,

not quite uninvited,

but you are not still-

yet- you are not vibrant.

You nod twinkling blue eyes toward me

and I feel my stomach squirm,

and am reduced to a pale worm

under those bright cauldrons.

You are a ghost

of the most high caliber

to invade such a space

where I would normally be well rested.

But when I wake, you’ll be gone,

light that filters red through my curtains

will reveal that. But of course

I’ll revel in you, because

that’s what you’d like me to do,

isn’t it?

You devil.

And so I have to put aside

what fantasies I had.

And so I must try to silence the voice

in me that says “I’m yours.”

And so I must try to look at you

without blushing.

I must try to fight the urge to hold your hand,

to fawn over your smile,

to talk to you

simply because I like the way you talk.

I feel sad,

though I shouldn’t.

I haven’t lost anything,

not really.

I’ve gained a friend.

That’s something.

So,

I’m alright.

Life, friends, is boring

only to those who make it so.

To complain of a friend’s plights

and gripes, and then complain

of being bored

marks a hypocrite

who has lost his inner child

who would see the great sea flash

and the blue sky and its cottons yearn

and dream

not of fantasy worlds,

but of the wonders here,

in his life.
