You were told:

though the Path may twist and bend,

stick to it to receive Happy Ever After.

Now the Woods have cleared, the tunnel opened;

you’re at the last page, but must ask,

is this truly Journey’s End?

Summers is here and the sun bares down.

I could impress upon people the value of rain-

silver fingers drumming, the sky without frown-

but they see it as a pain,

something to avoid. I would dance in it,

but instead I sit

inside and read poetry. When I was young

I would open my mouth to the rain

the way any other child would catch snowflakes on his tongue,

and I would spin for raindrops and drink them in.

Summer people watch the moon wax and wane.

On bright mornings I wince at the sun

and whisper you win.

Fortune

Fortune- in Reality-

favors not just the Brave,

but those with Wit enough

to regard the Grave.

If I could spread my Arms

and embrace the Land:

the Hills- Fields- Mountains-

Forests both small and grand-

I would then hold

a Treasure unknown

by so many- though-

It has always- been.

Ideas form at

slightest turn of Wind-

otherwise, the Mind

and Page are left- barren.

Writing is my Gift.

May I ask, what’s yours?

Let us resolve- not

to keep these ‘yond locked Doors.

Susceptible to Change-

like the weather-

is this land I roam;

great Fields of Heather,

boiling Seas of Grass,

Earth like planks of Wood,

Woods bursting upward-

each tree bears a hood.
