Thunder sings in

its tremulous language. Rain pours

down like oh-so-many tears.

If only

it would crystallize

like I wish my thoughts would.

Observation is

more of a ceaseless,

thankless occupation

whose rewards are never seen

by the observer- the one who records.

Blue-gray clouds never scrutinize.

Not the way

the observer does.

It was when I realized that

shadows

have no color,

and sunlight is white,

that music turned to thunder

in my ears,

and I was blind for a moment,

because I had seen

and had to give back in to the mirage

I had been raised to see

in order to see once more.

Quiet whip-like sounds

drift across the plain landscape

decorated with spare grasses

which would gleam, if the sun were shining,

but now a shadowless amber thundercloud

has descended upon

what small barns and houses

litter the yellow scope of flatland.

The sound that approaches

is arid, vast, and unforgiving.

It will rip the small buildings from their worth,

it will uproot anything that is not tied

with the root of providence.

This desert cloud will surge to remove

what fruits of labor men and women have grown

to provide, and to grow wealth.

This storm separates bills

from hearts, but

nonetheless,

blesses with suffering.

Bright Light

Golden light

fall from the night

sky, and ignite

Rumbles of thunder

Angels held under

the clouds, which snore in slumber

Breaking free

Bolt towards me

Light up the room searingly

Whisper within

the electric waves

Are You here to kill, or save?
